Reporting: I was trained as a multimedia reporter at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Currently, I am an investigative reporter at Raw Story, reporting on government accountability and politics.
My work has been published in outlets across the nation including ABC News, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Reporter, Built In, Bisnow, StreetWise Magazine, The Lens, Social Justice News Nexus, Law at the Margins, Apartment Therapy and more. |
Video Production: I produce freelance videos, conducting all interviewing, filming, scripting, editing and effects myself.
I interned with Chicago Tonight, CBS 2 Chicago and ABC News, and I produced a short documentary recognized as a National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences student award nominee, from the producers of the Chicago/Midwest Emmy® Awards. |
Teaching: I most recently taught Intro to Online Reporting and Production at DePaul University, and I co-taught a class through the Northwestern Prison Education Program called Reported Essay Writing.
I previously served as the interim director and as an instructor for the Medill Media Teens program, leading multimedia journalism classes on topics such as reporting and editing, feature writing, enterprise reporting, broadcast journalism and more. I also taught for the Medill-Northwestern Journalism Institute and prepared lessons for the Center for News Literacy. |
Public Speaking: I frequently appear on podcasts and radio, including appearances on The Attitude with Arnie Arnesen, The Julie Mason Show on SiriusXM, WFAE — an NPR affiliate in Charlotte, NC — and "The Perfect Scam" podcast.
I moderated a "Women in Media" panel hosted by the StepUp Women's Network, conducting a conversation with Chicago media personalities Val Warner, Danielle Robay, Sally Lou Loveman and LeeAnn Trotter. I also hosted a panel about women in sales tech leadership for Talentfoot. |
Fellowships: I was selected for an investigative reporting fellowship with the Social Justice News Nexus, where I worked on stories about mental health care in Chicago for six months. I also participated in the Public Interest Program fellowship, spending a year learning about the nonprofit landscape in Chicago.
